As an educator in Sustainable Supply Chain Management you apply your expertise of creating sustainable value in the context of doing business internationally and in the ethical and legal aspects that play a vital role in this process. You do this in project-based settings in which students must take the lead in their learning process. Your tasks and responsibilities encompass various aspects including, among others, curriculum development, teaching, and student mentorship during internships. This variety of tasks highlights the multifaceted nature of the role of an educator in the International Business Programme. This means that in this role you:

  • Develop, teach and assess subjects related to Supply Chain, Sustainability in Business, Entrepreneurship and interdisciplinary projects with an international scope.
  • Mentor students during international internships and provide feedback (including formal assessments) to students’ work.
  • Fulfill roles in academic committees that safeguard the quality of our programme such as the education committee and the examination board.
  • Take the initiative in learning about blended learning, technological developments (such as A.I.), and data utilization.
  • Maintain professional relationships with industry partners for our projects and internship opportunities.

International Business has built a sound reputation in higher education, which is rooted in a committed and highly international staff, with a personal and small-scale approach to education, an internationally and interculturally diverse student population and a strong network of international partner institutions.

International Business offers you a challenging work environment within a culturally diverse team of Business professionals. The team comprises of 33 enthusiastic professionals.   • A monthly salary of at least € 4,361 up to a maximum of € 6,114 gross, based on a fulltime position (scale 11 in the collective labour agreement for Higher Professional Education).
  • A year-end bonus, which is approximately equal to a 13th month.
  • Initially, we will offer an annual contract for this permanent position. Our intention is to offer you a permanent contract within 2 years, as long as the circumstances allow.
  • A good work-life balance and up-to-date workspaces (no remote working however).
  • Approximately 50 days of leave with a full-time appointment based on a 40-hour workweek.

You enjoy inspiring your students with your knowledge and enthusiasm. You are a flexible team player, you have strong interpersonal and organizational skills and you are able to motivate your colleagues. You have an entrepreneurial attitude and are efficient in your time. Additionally you: 

  • Hold, at minimum, a relevant master’s degree.
  • Have relevant (international) work experience in international business including supply chain management and the sustainability, ethical and legal challenges that pertain to international expansion.
  • Have solid experience in teaching professional skills and you preferably hold a Basic Qualification in Didactic Competence (BDB) certificate. If you do not yet possess this qualification, you are willing to attain it through Avans.
  • Possess excellent communication skills in, at minimum, English C1 level.
  • Are willing to take on roles that revolve around our IB curriculum including the design of new curriculum components and guiding students during internships.
