International Project Management & Stakeholder Engagement

Each week different Problem-Based Learning methods, e.g. lectures, training sessions, and tutor groups, will help you acquire new knowledge and skills. In addition, you will work on group assignments in project groups and give a presentation on a topic related to International Public Affairs & Stakeholder Management during dedicated sessions.

First quarter

In the first quarter, each week will be dedicated to International Public Affairs & Stakeholder Management in a specific region in the world, with one specialist lecturer being responsible for all educational activities for that particular week. 

The following regions will be covered:

• Week 1: Public Affairs & Stakeholder Management in European Union
• Week 2: Public Affairs & Stakeholder Management in Africa
• Week 3: Public Affairs & Stakeholder Management in North America
• Week 4: Public Affairs & Stakeholder Management in Latin America
• Week 5: Public Affairs & Stakeholder Management in Asia
• Week 6: Project
• Week 7: Project

Second quarter

The second quarter will be devoted to participation in the Avans Innovative Studio. In the Innovative Studio you will work in small groups on a series of 2-week company assignments. At the beginning of a new assignment, you will meet with representatives of the company and at the end you will present your outcomes to them.

Assessment

The assessment programme consists of:
- a theory exam
- active participation in multi-stakeholder dialogue simulations
- a grade for the IPASM presentation and the facilitation of discussion
- an individual paper and oral exam
- a portfolio and mock council
- the individual assessment of company assignments for Avans Innovative Studio.
