[UPDATE: Remindo issue resolved] PHP security vulnerability: what does this mean for Avans?
[Update 22 October – The issue with Remindo has now been resolved, which means that exams in this application can once again be administered.] A PHP security vulnerability has been discovered in PHP, a programming language widely used for websites and applications. The situation is still developing and is also affecting Avans.

At this moment, several consequences have already been identified at Avans. For example, exams in Remindo could not be completed on Wednesday. We are currently assessing what the situation means for exams scheduled in the coming days. As a precaution, several Avans websites have also been taken offline. In addition, some applications may be temporarily unavailable.
The impact of this vulnerability may change or increase over time. We are seeing Avans suppliers temporarily take websites or applications offline as a precautionary measure. As a result, some services used by Avans may become unavailable. It is not yet clear when the issues will be resolved or what the full consequences will be.
What is Avans doing?
We are closely monitoring the situation and working with our security partners to determine which measures are necessary. Our focus is on safeguarding the security of our systems while ensuring the continuity of education and our services as much as possible. If the situation requires it, we will implement additional measures.
