Ambitie 2025 ambition statement
At Avans University of Applied Sciences, we are committed to making a difference through our actions and our approach. All of us have a role to play in this – students, graduates and staff.
Agile & resilient
We live in a world that is constantly changing. Jobs and professions are evolving quickly and the world of work and careers is becoming more flexible. Educational needs are changing accordingly, partly due to technological developments and the increasing use of data. People also want more freedom of choice, opportunities to grow and develop, and flexibility in the learning process. We are shifting from being supply-driven to being demand-driven. Our perspective on the world is also changing – the collective interest and responsible citizenship are becoming more important.
Charting a course for the next five years
With all this in mind, we are proud to present ‘Ambition 2025 - agile and resilient’. As a committed and ambitious university of applied sciences, we know what is happening in society. This is our plan for the next five years, and it incorporates a range of perspectives, insights and ideas from staff, students, future students, the professional field, former students and secondary education.
Making a difference
This ambition document has broad support and is full of promising proposals. We want to produce agile and resilient professionals with an enterprising, inquisitive and responsible attitude, who make a real difference in and for a sustainable society. Graduates who find it easy to adapt to a changing environment and employment market.
Avans always seeks to be one step ahead, and the same applies to this ambition document. To achieve this, we will focus on:
- education: giving students as much freedom as possible to choose what they want to study
- co-creation: designing our education in partnership with the professional field and the labour market
- organisation: setting an example as agile and resilient professionals
- data and technology: seizing new opportunities in education and operations.
The next steps
The first steps have already been taken. Although Avans knows which direction the organisation is heading in, the route by which we get there has not yet been decided. But we do know that we will get there. To do this, we will be working with staff, students and the professional field. Together, we will explore the options, make agreements and produce plans and guidelines – always putting the quality of our education first, of course.
