In the recently published 2024 Keuzegids guide to higher professional education, Avans University of Applied Sciences has once again come in first place among the country’s major universities of applied sciences. The institute has achieved this goal for nine consecutive years now. To celebrate the occasion, Avans is treating students and staff to non-alcoholic cocktails today. Avans is abuzz and remains ambitious.
Starting this year, many new students at Avans are given the opportunity to follow a study pathway that offers them more flexibility and better suits their personal learning goals. Cooperation with the professional practice is also increasing, as well as attention for student wellbeing and study counselling.
Appreciation remains high
With the Ambition 2025, Avans has firmly invested in this development in recent years, while education continued. We look back on a busy year for our staff, making it all the more meaningful that appreciation from students and alumni remains high.
“This ranking supports our ambitions”, according to Jacomine Ravensbergen, acting Chairperson of the Avans Executive Board. “It’s proof of the inspiring environment, great atmosphere and solid mentoring we offer students. We continue to challenge ourselves and we continue our development, both with the students and the professional practice.”
Satisfied students
In general, students mainly appreciate the open and inclusive atmosphere of the programmes and the expertise of the lecturers. Avans provides them with challenging education that is relevant to their future profession. Avans graduates agree.

But study programmes in other fields are also highly rated, such as the Bachelor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Den Bosch, the Bachelor of Industrial Engineering & Management in Tilburg and the Stand-up Comedy Bachelor’s degree programme.
