Succesvol circulair en ‘bio-based’ werken. Het lijkt een kip met gouden eieren waar de vastgoedsector intensief naar op zoek is. CBCI, een project gefinancierd door het EU-programma Interreg 2 Zeeën, brengt een praktische gids uit met 5 ‘essentials’ die het starten van dit soort initiatieven makkelijker maken.

De gids is de eerste publicatie van CBCI (Circular Bio-based Construction Industry). Avans is penvoerder (aanspreekpunt) van dit project. ‘Five Essentials for Successful Circular Bio-Based Construction Initiatives’ is een praktische whitepaper gericht op vastgoedprofessionals, vastgoedeigenaren en projectontwikkelaars. De auteurs zetten uitdagingen rond bio-based en circulariteit op een rij en illustreren hoe vastgoedondernemers succesvoller kunnen zijn in het nemen van circulaire en bio-based bouwinitiatieven.
Bouwstenen
De schrijvers verzamelden achtergronden en inzichten op het gebied van circulariteit en bio-based-benaderingen in de bouw. Dat deden ze door middel van deskresearch en interviews, onder anderen met initiatiefnemers en belanghebbende partijen van 13 voorbeeldbouwprojecten. Ze filterden 5 ‘essentials’, of bouwstenen, uit alle informatie en illustreren deze met onder meer voorbeeldprojecten (casestudies) en direct toepasbare oplossingen.

Inspiratiebron
De vijf essentials en cases uit deze whitepaper kunnen dienen als inspiratiebron. Het doel van deze bouwstenen is om een ondersteuning te bieden bij het maken van keuzes in de initiatieffase van een circulair biobased bouwproject. Vastgoedprofessionals en -eigenaren, ontwikkelaars en andere geïnteresseerden in de bouwsector kunnen ze als leidraad gebruiken om betaalbare en haalbare circulaire bio-based constructies mee te realiseren. Door te focussen op deze essentials kan de sector voorkomen dat waardevolle hulpbronnen als energie verloren gaan, nu en in de toekomst.

First publication CBCI project about circular and bio-based successes
To work according to a successful circular and bio-based approach. It sounds like the goose with golden eggs that the real estate sector is looking for. CBCI, a project funded by the EU's Interreg 2 Seas program, is publishing a practical guide with 5 "essentials" that make it easier to start these types of initiatives.
The guide is the first CBCI (Circular Bio-based Construction Industry) publication. Avans is the lead partner for this project. "Five Essentials for Successful Circular Bio-Based Construction Initiatives" is a practical whitepaper aimed at real estate professionals, property owners and developers. The authors list the challenges surrounding biobased and circularity and illustrate how real estate entrepreneurs can be more successful in taking circular and biobased construction initiatives.
Building blocks
The authors collected background insights in the field of circularity and bio-based approaches in the construction sector. They did this by means of desk research and interviews, including interviews with initiators and interested parties of 13 exemplary construction projects. They filtered 5 "essentials", or building blocks, from all information and illustrate them with example projects (case studies) and immediately applicable solutions.

The five essentials and cases in this white paper can serve as a source of inspiration. The purpose of these essentials is to provide support in making choices in the initiation phase of a circular bio-based construction project. Real estate professionals and owners, developers and other interested parties in the construction sector can use them as a guideline to help realize affordable and feasible circular biobased constructions. By focusing on these essentials, the industry can now and in the future prevent valuable resources such as energy from being lost.
