Avans comes top for the third year running

The Full-time Higher Professional Education Options Guide 2013 has labelled Avans the best multi-stream University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands for the third year running. Every year, the Dutch Centre for Higher Education Information examines the quality of higher education. Following in the footsteps of 2011 and 2012, Avans University of Applied Sciences can now describe itself as the best in the Netherlands again in 2013. Elsevier journal already reached the same conclusion last month in its survey 'The Best Studies’.

The Options Guide is aimed at students who are looking for information on study programmes. The guide contains the very latest information and quality assessments for all higher professional education study programmes. The programmes are compared on the basis of ResearchNed’s national ‘Studiekeuze’ database, statistics on study success from the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences, accreditation data and student reviews from the National Student Survey (NSE).

Top programmes

Nine study programmes at Avans University of Applied Sciences came top of their category in the new guide. Eight programmes were ranked second and three programmes came in third place. The International Business and Management Studies programme is the second best in the country. Students commend the programme for its facilities and curriculum. It is particularly notable that the experts have taken a positive view with regard to the way Avans has set up the IBMS study programme.

According to President of the Board Paul Rüpp this as a fantastic result. ‘It is fantastic that our quality is rated so highly. Topping the ratings for so many years is a unique achievement’, says Rüpp.

Avans is evolving with a global focus

Over the last academic year, the international study environment offered by Avans has evolved even further. The international study and placement mobility has substantially increased once again. Our students are increasingly interested in a study period abroad, both inside and outside of Europe. We have developed more English-taught study programmes. Avans is also honoured that 8 Brazilian students have chosen Avans for their Science Without Borders exchange period.
